BANGALORE: Governor Rameshwar Thakur has promulgated two ordinances governing setting up of an horticultural university at Bagalkot and bringing in an umbrella legislation covering three agricultural universities in Bangalore, Dharwad and Raichur. The University of Horticultural Sciences (Ordinance) 2008 has been promulgated to set up the university with a focus on instruction, tra ining and research in horticulture and allied sciences with its headquarters in Bagalkot. In Karnataka, there was no let up in the downpour in the districts of Kodagu, the origin of the river Cauvery, Belgaum, Bijapur, Raichur, Gulbarga, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, where normal life was severely disrupted.
