An interesting detail is that the Thai king's autistic grandson, Khun Poom Jensen, enlisted into Or Sor ranks in Nakhon Pathom province when he turned 20 in 2003. He had actually wanted to join the regular army, but his disability made this impractical, and he is quoted saying he was "very happy" to join the Or Sor. (Asia Times Online)
