    Coal mine collapse kills 3 in Jilin  May 30, 2006
    CHANGCHUN, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Three miners were killed and one more injured in a coal mine collapse in Liaoyuan City, northeast China's Jilin Province. The cave-in took place at Jufeng Coal Mine in Dongliao County around 7 p.m. on Monday, killing three miners on the spot and injuring one more, according to Dong Xiaoge, head of Jilin Provincial Bureau of Coal Mine Safety.     Arrests over deadly China blaze  Feb 15, 2006
    Eleven people have reportedly been arrested in the Chinese city of Liaoyuan, in connection with a hospital fire in December that killed 39 people. Patients were forced to jump from windows on the third floor of the building, to try to escape the blaze. (BBC News -- Asia-Pacific)
