" Erol Ozkoray, former editor of the magazine Idea Politika, was arrested at Istanbul airport on 22 December when he flew in from Paris. He was freed the next day. An arrest warrant for him had been issued on 14 November after he criticised the army in an article in late 2001 asking what purpose it served. The issue of the magazine had been seized and banned by the justice ministry at the request of the army leadership. The magazine stopped appearing in June 2002. Ozkoray was acquitted on 29...
