    Somalia: UN Compound Attacked  Oct 30, 2008
    "At approximately at 10 o'clock this morning the UNDP compound in Hargeysa, Somaliland, was hit by an explosion, caused by a vehicle which forced entry into the compound," according to a statement issued by the Office of the UN Resident & Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, which is based in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi ...     US Says Somali Bombs Resemble Al-Qaeda Attacks, AFP Reports  Oct 30, 2008
    The explosives were detonated at the presidential palace, the Ethiopian Embassy and a United Nations Development Program compound in Hargeysa, the capital of Somalia's breakaway region of Somaliland. They were carried out by people from ``outside Somaliland,'' Mohammed Hassan, the region's ambassador to Ethiopia, said yesterday, without providing further details. (Bloomberg)
