Morgan Stanley shot to the top this year as it won a bigger share of sales by closely held companies, ranging from Country Garden Holdings Co. in Foshan in China's southern province of Guangdong to Anta Sports Products Ltd. in Jinjiang in the southeastern province of Fujian. Investment banks now have a bigger pool of clients instead of just one, the Chinese government,'' said Mark Mobius, who oversees $30 billion as managing director of Templeton Asset Management.
