Mesa Marin Raceway, which was previously on Highway 178, previously had high school racing teams. Collins, who is the founder of Mesa Marin, plans on continuing this tradition at the new raceway and would like to see TUHS be involved. (Taft Daily Midway Driller, CA)

Collins owned and operated Mesa Marin raceway in east Bakersfield but closed it in the fall of 2005 as residential development surrounded it. Now, Collins and his son Larry have teamed up with the Destefani family to create a racing facility that will be bigger and better than Mesa Marin. (Taft Daily Midway Driller, CA)
