    PTA Notes: Georgetown Days a great weekend for town, PTA  Nov 12, 2008
    The participants began the parade route at the Georgetown Middle/High School and walked to American Legion Park. Once at the park the kids walked around the baseball field while Superintendent Carol Jacobs along with other noted officials from town judged the costumes. (Georgetown Record, MA)

    In addition to the standard practices of treating, i.e., larviciding and adulticiding within and directly around the city, we got very aggressive on the river bottomlands south of town from Legion Park west to include all of the Lewis and Clark WPA. With aerial applications running two to three days per week, we applied tons of larvicide in an attempt to keep a perimeter, or "dead zone" around the city. We worked it hard until funds ran short.     The PTA is partnering with the Central Fire Company to sponsor Georgetown s first annual Horrible s Parade Saturday, Oct. 27, 5-10 p.m. The parade will begin at the GMHS and end at the American Legion Park.     Normally the kids parade would go down Broadway Avenue and end up at the city park, but this year it traveled down NE First Street, past Royal Villa, and ended up at the Legion Park in front of the New Richland Care Center.
