Question: Was the Airport Speedway race track ever located on the same side of Kearney Boulevard as Chandler Airport. -- Donald Rutherford, Fresno Answer: A 1931 aerial photo taken by Fresno commercial photographer Claude "Pop" Laval shows the Airport Speedway race track next to Chandler Airport, both on the north side of Kearney Boulevard ... An old race program dated Oct. 6, 1935, refers to the track as the "New Airport Speedway."The track was renamed Kearney Bowl in 1958. (Fresno Bee -- Local)
