    Since starting the long job of excavating the 30-foot-wide, 22-foot-tall tunnels in September, crews working six days a week have burrowed about 600 feet into San Pedro Mountain for a tunnel that will carry northbound traffic, and about 300 feet on the southbound tunnel.
