Authorities said the driver lost control of his vehicle and plunged into a canal at the intersection of Pine Island road and Coral Ridge Drive. The BSO Dive Team worked to free the man who was inside the vehicle. (WSVN-TV Miami, FL)

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer said 36-year-old Shannon Fralicker was jumping waves on a personal watercraft about 1:30 p.m. in the Pine Island area north of St. Augustine when she hit a wave and was thrown against the handlebars.
