    NH investigates possible death from rare disease  Nov 15, 2008
    JAFFREY, N.H. (AP) -- New Hampshire health officials are investigating whether a Jeffrey woman died of a rare illness related to mad cow disease. An obituary in the Keene Sentinel said Judith L. Tieger died on Nov. 6 from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a degenerative brain disorder which belongs in the same family of illnesses as mad cow disease. (Concord Monitor)

    2 NH men hurt in weekend motorcycle accidents  Aug 26, 2008
    Police say 68-year-old Charles Fletcher, of Jaffrey, was flown to the hospital by helicopter after he braked his 2005 BMW motorcycle, skidded and slid down a Jaffrey roadway Sunday. Police Chief William Oswalt says Fletcher suffered a number of broken bones and possibly some internal bleeding. (Concord Monitor)

Attorney General Kelly Ayotte says 41-year-old Michael Prince is charged with stealing more than $1,600 from the Jaffrey Police Association, which raises money for scholarships and to aid families of fallen officers.     The Cheshire County indictment charges that Wood, while working as a nurse at the Good Shepherd Nursing Center in Jaffrey, took at least 11 narcotic pills that were prescribed for a resident. The indictments allege she tampered with the residents medicine by replacing the narcotics with over-the-counter pain relievers that were not prescribed for the resident. (Concord Monitor)
