    Birmingham s Trojans won the Class AAAA diamond crown in 1981, but he departed Las Cruces in 1983 to become the public relations officer and an assistant baseball coach for Ron Black at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs. Birmingham left those jobs but not Hobbs, where he started a baseball program at College of the Southwest in 1987, and success there may not have been overnight but within two years the Mustangs won 33 games and were ranked as high as 25th in the nation (NAIA).     Fisk to appeal order about Georgia O'Keeffe donation  Apr 4, 2008
    In March Nashville Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle permanently banned any sale of the 101-piece collection and set an October deadline for Fisk to retrieve the artwork from storage and put it on display. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in New Mexico had sued to gain the rights over the collection because of the school's attempts to sell paintings and because they weren't currently on display.     HOBBS, N.M. Ismael De La Rosa, of Artesia, N.M., died at the scene of a two-vehicle collision about 4:30 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 529 and County Road 126, west of Hobbs, N.M.. According to a news release, New Mexico State Police responded to the scene and determined that a 1990 Peterbilt tanker truck belonging to Crain Hot Oil Service, of Lovington, N.M., and a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle driven by 51-year-old De La Rosa collided when truck driver 35-year-old Fidel Martinez, of Hobbs, tried to...
