    Judge James Barry in Hillsborough County Superior Court described Carl Peterson as a "sadist" and praised the victim for her courage and level-headedness in reporting the assault.     Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge Kathleen McGuire ruled this month that the three noncapital trials - one for a shooting and two for armed robbery - should continue as scheduled, even if she hasn't yet reached a decision on the jury-selection question.
