A Missoula judge rejected a plea agreement Tuesday in the assault case of Thomas Wesley Allen, a Hamilton man who admitted beating a woman with a hammer after arranging a date through her escort service. Fourth Judicial District Judge Robert L. Dusty Deschamps III said at a scheduled sentencing hearing that he intended to impose a harsher punishment than what was recommended in the plea deal, which called for 15 years in the Montana State Prison, with 11 years suspended.
