    (AP) - Putting out a fire at an abandoned electroplating plant in Fort Smith last week left behind about 100,000 gallons of contaminated water that federal officials say will take days to clean up.     Water levels high for boaters  May 24, 2008
    Currently, flows at Murray Lock and Dam at Little Rock are 113,000 c.f.s. Flows at Trimble Lock and Dam near Fort Smith are about 108,000 c.f.s. Flows are expected to drop over the weekend, but not enough to lift the small craft advisory. Pleasure boaters are advised to stay off the river until flows recede to safe levels, which is expected to take at least through the end of the month and possibly longer, depending on the rainfall amounts received in the basin.
