Fire Department took part in a training exercise Wednesday at the former site of the Montgomery Ward store at Indian Springs Shopping Center. The training, which will eventually involve all firefighters in the department, served as a refresher course on the operation of the department's thermal imaging cameras. The cameras offer the ability to rescue fire victims in low or no-light situations by honing in on victim's body heat. On Wednesday, KCK firefighters used the equipment to find two "victims" located in the completely dark section of the former store's basement.
