This Oklahoma mobile control center unit is only a couple of years old and is the only quick response vehicle of its size in the state. It is used where it will be needed for two days or more. It is 53 feet long by 8.5 feet wide, but slideouts make it larger. The OHP has other smaller quick response vehicles where assistance is needed for short periods of time. It has been hooked up to Southwest Technology Center since Friday afternoon. Patrolman Jeff Hemphill brought the unit to Altus, and he was replaced by patrolman Darin Rose yesterday. Rose is from Bartlesville. The unit is kept in Oklahoma City. Five highway patrolman are on the team of drivers who take it to sites where it is needed. The unit has sleeping quarters, but the patrolmen have made use of SWTCs shower and bathroom facilities. In the picture are Patrolman Rose and Taylor Bunting, communications officer of this area.
