Estimated cost of the biomass plant is $20 million. The plant would provide 15 jobs, 70 woods jobs and provide enough energy for 10,000 homes. The coastal schools are hoping in two years, when the next time block is approved, a new Class 3A league will be formed with Rogue River, Cascade Christian, St. Mary s, Lakeview and, possibly, Illinois Valley. Based on that report, the Lakeview Town Council gave town manager Ray Simms the go-ahead to submit a letter of intent to state officials saying the town will seek a grant for about $50,000 for a feasibility study and to develop a business plan.
