    There was a pronounced fan backlash after it became known that di Bonaventura wanted to team Joe team leader Duke with Action Man, a '60s British toy line patterned after the original G.I. Joe dolls. A draft by Skip Woods was reportedly a buddy movie with Duke and Action Man; to make matters worse, Cobra Command wasn't in the story. (IGN FilmForce)

    The Hasbro character was spun off as "Action Man" outside the U.S., and the film would team up both characters.
