Charles Town plans $1M race for April 2009 Sep 20, 2008
The West Virginia track announced on Thursday the creation of the Charles Town Classic, a 1 1/8-mile race for 4-year-olds and up, scheduled for April 18, 2009. The new race, the richest in the track's 75-year history, will have a guaranteed purse of $500,000, with an additional $500,000 available to graded stakes winners. (ESPN -- Horse Racing)
Kim Smith and Erik Bennett Join ODU Athletic Staff Jul 1, 2008
A former captain on the University of West Virginia track and cross country teams, Erik Bennett comes to ODU after having spent three years as an academic advisor with the Mountaineers, two as a graduate assistant. There he assisted student-athletes with scheduling and new student orientation, while also working with at risk students and teaching a freshman orientation course. (Odusports.com)

WVU TRACK: Senior Jessica Cazikowski won the 60-meter hurdles and the West Virginia track and field team placed 11th out of 80 teams Sunday at the ECAC Championship at the Boston University Track and Field Pavilion. Czaikowski, who covered the hurdles in 8. (Charleston Gazette, WV -- Sports)
