IS BLACKOUT A BOON ON SUNDAY?  Nov 1, 2007
By all accounts, the Raiders have done a far better job in marketing and ticket sales since taking over those functions from the much-maligned Oakland Football Marketing Association for the 2006 season. They have had only three blacked-out games since then, in contrast to an average of five a year under the marketing association. (San Francisco Chronicle)

Why are there thousands of Raider fans living in San Diego, but no Charger fans living in the Oakland Bay Area? Why is it that at San Diego vs Oakland football games at Qualcomm Stadium (Chargers "home" field) there are more Raider fans in attendance than Charger fans? Why is that? Sales up on both sides of bay  Aug 11, 2006
In the Raiders' case, the bar was set exceedingly low, partly because of the dreaded personal seat licenses that were dissolved in the offseason when the club took over its own marketing and ticket-selling functions from the now-defunct Oakland Football Marketing Association. But neither team has revealed how many season tickets it has sold in the wake of symmetrically awful 4-12 seasons on both sides of the bay. (San Francisco Chronicle -- Sports)

If the Raiders fail to sell out this season, they won't be able to point the finger at the Oakland Football Marketing Association, which until this year had handled the sale of season tickets, club seats and luxury suites. Under a settlement reached with Alameda County last year, the Raiders have taken over sales responsibilities for the first time since their return to Oakland in 1995.
