He earned the right to advance by finishing in the top eight of the Central Indiana Tennis Association (CITA) tournament, held June 8-12 at North Central High School in Indianapo-lis. Emerson went 6-2 during the five-day event, which left him in the top eight of the event and gave him the opportunity to advance to the regional tournament to be held at North Central, June 23-27.
