    Adidas, which has supplied gear to Olympic champions from Czech runner Emil Zatopek to Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe, has predicted that the North American sporting-goods market will decline this year as sales climb in Europe and Asia. The shoemaker has forecast a "high-single-digit" gain in this year's sales at constant exchange rates, an operating margin "expected to approach" 10% and a gain of at least 15% in net income attributable to stockholders from 551 million euros last year.
