Woods just turned 32 at the end of December and plays a game stuffed with more good players than Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Tom Watson, Billy Casper, Walter Hagen and Bobby Jones could conjure up in slumber. Certainly, there have been monster equipment changes, and it would have been fun to see the aforementioned greats hack away with the high-tech stuff (from what I can gather, Babe Ruth swung a wooden bat). "It depends on a person's temperament," Harrington says, "but I suppose a player could suffer from winning just one major. For impact, it's hard to overlook the US Opens of the 1960s, in which seven Hall of Famers (Nicklaus, Trevino, Player, Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Julius Boros, Gene Littler) won eight titles, but something about Orville Moody's win in 1969 takes away whatever appeal that 10-year span might have.
