Akron Legacy Real Estate Development LLC has a letter of intent with the city to buy about 5 acres from the city to house a new, long-term acute-care facility that would serve patients transferred from Akron General Medical Center and Summa Health System. As part of the $30 million project, Akron Legacy also plans to renovate the historic former post office next to the site and turn it into office space that would be leased by Summa for its information-technology and finance employees.
