    National Park Service officials say the mussels were found at the Katherine Landing Marina just north of Davis Dam in the southernmost part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The discovery came after biologists reported last week that the mussels had been found farther south -- in the Lake Havasu reservoir and in a nearby California reservoir holding water for delivery to Los Angeles.     Although officials from the National Park Service, which runs the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, have said it probably would not be possible to eradicate mussels now that they have established colonies in the lake, Riley said he wants to keep open the option of some kind of eradication program.
