The public will be banned from the current site of the Kilauea eruption on state land next to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park until July 25, 2009, under a decision by the state Board of Land and Natural Resources. In 2003 a Hughes 500D helicopter owned by the company crashed in the coastal lava area of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, killing the pilot and three passengers.
