I was informed by an employee at a local hospital that a law was passed some time ago that is titled the charity law. It is my understanding that this law assists U.S. citizens with the payment of medical bills. This letter is coming from a concerned taxpayer that was witness to what any book lover would call a horrific sight. On July 16, I was returning a book and due to the fullness of the parking lot I had to park in the rear of the library. The library has two trash Dumpsters that are clearly not marked for recycling and library staff was proceeding to fill them with books that were being thrown away. I asked about why they didn’t give the books away free. I really didn’t get any answer.
