In fact, the newer building that stands on the property, which was built and used by a program for children to farm vegetables in the 1960 s, is scheduled by the City of Boston to be demolished within the next few weeks, despite several attempts by volunteer groups, including the Friends of Mary Cummings Park, the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts, to clean up the building and grounds so it could be used in the way it was intended by the benefactor.
