Thanks to rain, it took a staggering 21 hours to complete that race, the checkered flag in Fontana coming just past 2 a.m. No doubt, that was something NASCAR took into consideration in Daytona Beach Sunday night, when it quickly nixed any notion of trying to squeeze another 120 miles out of what is supposed to be a 500-mile race.
