CD Review: Gutter Twins Try For Stardom A Second Time Mar 6, 2008
More than 15 years after his closest sideswipe with fame, Lanegan seems primed to reiterate the song's point with a new band -- founded with fellow '90s couldabeen, Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs -- and a new album, "Saturnalia." This time, the pair is hoping their combined efforts will allow them to finally grab that brass ring. Time might seem like Lanegan and Dulli's ally in their endeavor. (KSBW 8, CA)

The Afghan Whigs 1965 (1998) Take 1965 as an alternative universe version of Let's Get It On: you find singer Greg Dulli wrestling with alcohol, drug and sex dependency, much like his hero Marvin Gaye. With a filmic eye for seamy detail, Dulli lines his demons up one by one and stares them down. (Guardian Unlimited)
Review: Apple's iPod Touch Is Best Media Player Ever Made Sep 14, 2007
I searched for the Afghan Whigs and only had to type in AFG for them to appear at the top of the list. Clicking on their name brings up a screen with albums and songs to choose from. (Fox News)
Tucson, Phoenix bands merge Jul 25, 2007
filters the melancholy grandeur of Radiohead's OK Computer through a vocal style gritty enough to trigger flashbacks to the Afghan Whigs' best work on the epic A Punch to the Nose. The soaring guitars that punctuate Until We Crack take the sound in a more accessible and/or stadium-rocking direction without sacrificing any of the mystery. (AZCentral -- Entertainment)

Local bands keep 'Rodfest V' thriving Jan 23, 2007
Taking the stage wearing rubber masks of former presidents George Bush and Ronald Reagan (face wear was, apparently, an ancillary theme of the night), the smarmy, hedonistic Kalvin Koolidge came across like Ween goofing on the Afghan Whigs -- or maybe the other way around. The Scituate trio roared and pimped its way through an unhinged set that sounded like a radio dialing through '80 s-style arena metal, B-grade action-flick soundtracks, and Greg Dulli side projects. Wes Orshoski, L.A.
