Richard Morel was her co-conspirator on the standout "Same Ol' Story" (among other tracks), and additional highlights include the simmering opener "High and Mighty" (which she produced alongside The Scumfrog) and the blooping power track "Into the Nightlife" (produced with Peer Astrom and John Bobeck). Themes range from social issues to pure escapism, and, most important, Lauper's voice ranges from her devilish little-girl-squeak persona to her blasting-pipes, veteran diva.
