Every hooky nugget like "At the Moon," with its insistent backbeat and pulsing guitars, is offset elsewhere by shapeless stabs at someone else's sound: There's an attempt at the soaring Brit-rock ambition of Doves on "March On," for example, and more than a passing resemblance to the heavy-groove alt-pop sound of Porno for Pyros on "Can You Hear the Sun?".
