The first room juxtaposes a three-part Bill Henson photographic portrait of conductor Simone Young; Robert Hannaford's bold, sombre portrait of Aboriginal leader Lowitja O'Donoghue; Howard Arkley's day-glo take on musician Nick Cave, and Scott Redford's logo-slick portrait of champion motorcyclist Casey Stoner, one of six commissions by the gallery on show for the first time. Although a national portrait collection was begun 20 years ago, it was housed inadequately at Old Parliament House and... (Sydney Morning Herald -- Entertainment)

" Describing Ms O'Donoghue as "very gracious and very delightful", Harris made a point of lingering in front of her portrait. It hangs alongside pictures of Australian leaders, personalities and celebrities including James Webber's 1782 portrait of Captain Cook and a Howard Arkley spray painting of musician Nick Cave. " Another highlight for Segreto came in 2001, when Alex Proyas shot a pivotal live scene for his film Garage Days with a "band" including Pia Miranda and Maya Stange. 'I'm a gigaholic'  Nov 25, 2008
I'm going more than ever - The Fall last week, Nick Cave next week and, er, Hawkwind in the distance. A punishing yet exhilarating set  Oct 30, 2008
Hamlet (Pow Pow Pow) was one of those unhinged Birthday Party songs, all blood and wails and machinery noise that marked Nick Cave and friends as one of the scarier live experiences you could have in the late 1970s-early '80s. And you can certainly hear the influence of that period's dark local underground in the Drones' capacity for assault and febrile movement (The Minotaur could scare for Australia), not to mention singer Gareth Liddiard's lean charisma and often brilliant lyrical ability. (Sydney Morning Herald -- Entertainment)
