    A legend never dies  Jan 20, 2008
Those of you who are intrigued by the tradition of the folky singer-songwriter who composes songs of freedom in the face of oppression will doubtless be aware of my interest in the long line of artistes that runs from Tracy Chapman, Harry Chapin, Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. And there are many more examples outside of the non-English-speaking world like Chiles Victor Jara, Thailands Surachai Nga Caravan Jantimatorn and Afghanistans Ahmad Zahir.
