From the opening strains of The Sick Bed of Cuchulainn to the anthemic anti-war masterpiece The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, The Pogues crafted an album that was immediate, yet poetic, full of fire, yet with its share of wistful moments such as the Ewan MacColl cover Dirty Old Town and Im a Man You Dont Meet Every Day, which was sung by ORiordan.
