The suspense is killing them  May 20, 2007
Fincher's fascination with urban paranoia and dangerous games make him the perfect man for the job; he is the director of one of the most noir of all serial-killer films, Se7en. From Peter Lorre in M through Tony Curtis's Albert DeSalvo in The Boston Strangler and Richard Attenborough's Reginald Christie in 10 Rillington Place to Anthony Hopkins's Hannibal Lecter, the chief roles in such pictures have been the killers. (The Observer)

Zodiac draws a star turn from Downey  May 19, 2007
Director Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club) once again demonstrates his visual flair with some brilliantly orchestrated set pieces. The nerve-shredding murder of the teenage lovers in their car at the beginning of the film leads eventually to a horribly tense aerial view of Paul Lee Stine's yellow taxi cab cruising through Presidio Heights en route to its deadly final destination, with Zodiac sitting in the back. (Scotsman)

Sex and the City film now scrapped  May 18, 2007
Se7en' director David Fincher brings the true story of a California serial killer to the screen in a must-see thriller. While not a whole lot actually happens throughout, this flick impresses for its outstanding acting and gritty social commentary. (Yahoo News -- Sex and the City)

Partners in crime  May 13, 2007
Then came Se7en (1995), a sleeper hit starring Brad Pitt as a detective investigating a series of murders based on the deadly sins ('I'll talk to any magazine called Seven,' Fincher laughs). The Game, a tricksy mystery, followed two years later, before Fincher struck gold with Fight Club (1999), a dazzling meditation on male aggression, again starring Pitt. (Telegraph.co.uk)

    Jake's progress  May 8, 2007
Gyllenhaal is in London to promote his latest film Zodiac, directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club). A sophisticated, taut cop thriller following the true story of the notorious Zodiac serial killer, who terrorised San Francisco during the Sixties and Seventies and was never caught, it is more a tale of obsession than one of a psychopath, which suits Gyllenhaal perfectly. (Scotsman)

So who was the Zodiac killer?  Apr 15, 2007
A Hollywood movie, directed by David Fincher who brought the world the horrifying Se7en, has hit cinemas across America: its brutal depictions of the Zodiac's murders show that he still has the power to shock and scare decades later. It has also cast fresh light on a killer who has become a vital part of America's popular mythology. (Guardian Unlimited)

    - Why Cameron is like an Easter egg without any sweets  Apr 2, 2007
It's notoriously tricky to find out much about his past, in the same way that Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt found it tricky to find out much about the serial killer John Doe in the movie Se7en. He'd managed to erase his entire existence, even slicing the skin off his fingers to avoid leaving prints. (Guardian Unlimited)

    Roll over, Wes Craven|  Mar 26, 2007
Heavily influenced by David Finchers 'Se7en', it had a noir-ish quality both in its appearance and in its whodunit structure. Sadly, this original film has itself been franchised, Whannell selling his soul by penning 'Saw 2' and 'Saw 3' both directed by Bousman and currently disgracing our small and big screens respectively. Zodiac’ holds interest, but cheats’ at the puzzle  Mar 23, 2007
It s got exciting, breathless moments of suspense, a talented cast of some of Hollywood s best and brightest, and David Fincher (Se7en), a wonderful visual director who certainly knows how to do a good serial killer movie. But the one thing the movie does not have is caution. (Chippewa Falls Chippewa Herald, WI)

Movie review: ‘Zodiac’ reaches for the stars  Mar 21, 2007
Imagine a very special Unsolved Mysteries segment directed by the guy who made Fight Club and Se7en and you have Zodiac, a new movie that presents the true story of a creepy serial killer who terrorized California in the late 60s and early 70s. After each murder, the killer would leave the cops and the press cryptic defiant messages belittling their efforts to identify him. (Lompoc Record, CA)
