    Everyone alive in the U.S. today has probably seen the 1939 MGM film starring Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley Jr. and Bert Lahr at least once. So iconic is this film that to some extent it has eclipsed its own source material, the original 1900 novel by L.
