    In the context of the film, it's clear that the ``Simple Jack'' scenes are meant to ridicule Hollywood's sometimes sloppy treatment of stories about the disabled; I was instantly reminded of Cuba Gooding Jr.'s awful ``Radio,'' which was so cloying and badly performed that it drew unintentional laughter from the preview audience I saw it with. But take those ``Simple Jack'' clips and show them without any frame of reference, and you can see why some people are infuriated. (Kalamazoo Gazette, MI)
