The Express Review Oct 10, 2008
Although its subject matter is more than worthy of a feature film, The Express plays like a TV movie thanks to the direction of Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls) and screenplay by Charles Leavitt (K-PAX, Blood Diamond). The "greatest hits" structure inherent to countless TV biopics is utilized here, although admittedly there are precious few biopics that don't adhere to that formula by virtue of trying to squeeze in everything they can about their subject's life in a mere two hours. He's happy on the outside May 24, 2008
Spacey's decision, in 2003, to accept the position of artistic director at London's then-ailing Old Vic (from which he has mounted several successful productions) was translated by some wags as a retreat from movies, after his films K-PAX, Pay It Forward and The Shipping News failed to find large audiences. Tiresome questions about Spacey's sexuality, an issue only in Hollywood (which is about as liberal in such matters as Iran), have dogged him for years - leading to further speculation that... Sorry, Stedman Jan 10, 2008
Recalling his formative years treading the boards (and perhaps dreading another K-PAX), the actor realized that helping reclaim the once-vital theater was his destiny. This is more than a job for me because Im finally doing something that is outside of my own career and bigger than myself and Im able to see the effects it has on peoples lives every single day and you just dont have that experience in film, Kevin said. "I don't know if you remember 'K-PAX,' " he asked, referring to the 2001 drama that would eventually star Kevin Spacey. "I loved, loved, loved [the script for] 'K-PAX,' but it never really jelled in my mind. I always wanted to make that movie. (VHI.com -- Music News)
Cusack's character could be more human in 'Martian Child' Nov 2, 2007
The boy, sort of a kid-version of K-PAX, looks at the world through an outsider's eyes. He has these elaborate, attention-grabbing quirks, which his would-be dad rightly identifies as "coping mechanisms." Dennis hangs upside down, wears his gravity belt, his sunglasses and gobs of sunscreen because the sun is too bright from this distance, the Earth's gravity too weak. (Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier)
Spacey can retire to the Hall of Inane Jun 17, 2007
Since American Beauty, however, there has been K-Pax, Pay It Forward, The Shipping News, The Life Of David Gale and, er, Beyond The Sea. Am I the only one who sees this charade. (Scotsman)

This week, Boston University was graced with the presence of actor and producer Kevin Spacey, known for his critically acclaimed roles in A Bug's Life and K-PAX. However, Spacey told the ol' Free Press he decided to scrap his film, and while he is here, has decided to put together a special screenplay about BU. Here's a leaked copy of the summary. At BU, an unlikely pair is teaming up to combat an outdated Guest Policy by drawing up new rules for on-campus housing. (Boston University Daily Free Press, MA)
