The original Prom Night from 1980 starred Jamie Lee Curtis at the height of her scream-queen days and was replete with all of the sex, gore and disembodied heads that the new film is lacking. Whereas the 2008 version inexplicably abandons the prom for its final reel to finish things off on a terribly boring bedroom set, the original makes good on its titular promise and truly provides a terrorific climax, complete with a prom king and queen coronation that'll go right to your head.
