City seeking raise on November ballot Sep 2, 2009
Published: Wednesday, September 2, 2009 1:17 AM CDT The Hudson Area Association Library receives less public funding, per person in it s chartered coverage area, then any other library in Columbia County, according to the Mid-Hudson Library System s Statistical Report for 2008. Library officials feel the numbers justify their call for a ballot referendum this November to more then double their taxpayer funding. (Hudson Register Star, NY)

The president said the library is funded much worse than most in the Mid-Hudson Library System, ranked 59th out of 66 community libraries. This year the library received $48,000 from Hudson, $5,500 from Greenport, and $1,500 from Stockport. (Hudson Register Star, NY)
