Book group, Sisco celebrate 30 years Oct 17, 2009
Prior to the establishment of the Minuteman Library Network, the library could not furnish enough copies of the books for the group meetings and members would buy their own. Today, Sisco utilizes the interlibrary loan system to ensure there are enough copies of each title available at the front desk. (Lincoln Journal, MA)

Brookline library technology finally on its way May 2, 2009
The system, which Brookline is adopting alongside several other libraries in the Minuteman Library Network, was originally criticized by some in town as an unnecessary and untested technology that would eat up town money needed for other projects. Library supporters, however, argued that the technology, which is similar to that used in Fast Lane transponders or MBTA Charlie Cards, would help library staff keep up with growing circulation demands without hiring new staff. Of 35 libraries in the Minuteman Library Network, the Newton Free Library was one of two not to see an increase in the number of books, DVDs or CDs checked out from 2007 to 2008.
