    Market Pulse: Fossil inks licensing deal w/ Diesel  Sep 1, 2005
    98 on Wednesday after the Richardson, Texas-based maker of watches, jewelry and fashion accessories inked a licensing deal with Diesel, an Italian design company, to make, market and distribute Diesel's jewelry collection.     Museum shops sell home design next to postcards  Nov 20, 2004
    An $85 stainless steel cocktail shaker made by Italian design firm Alessi is on the shelf in the MoMA gift shop; upstairs, the 1957 original design by Luigi Massoni and Carlo Mazzeri is on display. The work of Japanese designer Sori Yanagi can be viewed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and his $420 reproduction molded plywood "Butterfly" stool is for sale in the museum store -- and online.     This has always seemed especially true of a lot of Scandinavian design, which often has an earnestness that--and I know I am operating in the realm of wild generalizations here, but bear with me--doesn't excite me in quite the same way Italian insouciance does.
