Council on Aging: August 2008 schedule Sep 4, 2008
The Medford Council on Aging is happy to offer the opportunity to learn the art of leathercraft on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Senior Center Library. Instructor Yellow Turtle, also known as Gerald Rockwood, will give a demonstration and talk about his work that will showcase his talent, and the projects that you, too, can make, such as moccasins, wallet, eyeglass case, passport case, belt, dream catcher, jewelry and more. Honor program for lifers abolished at penitentiary Feb 10, 2007
The abolished privileges include an annual banquet with visitors that was paid for by inmates; semiprivate visits with friends and family in a windowed office; letting inmates choose the paint color in their cell; and permitting leathercraft tools and sports gear in cells.
