    Writing in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, the team said they suspected the condition, known as palmar fasciitis, could be linked to cancer, found an ovarian mass and successfully treated the patient with chemotherapy. This phenomenon is known as a paraneoplastic syndrome - where symptoms occur because of a cancer but are not related to cancer cells present in that area of the body. (BBC News -- Health)
