Charges against Pa. doctor dropped in autistic boy’s death May 8, 2008
The CDC, which investigated the boy s death, has said the boy was given a synthetic amino acid called Disodium EDTA instead of Calcium Disodium EDTA. Both are odorless, colorless liquids and may have been confused, the CDC found. The Department of State also contended Kerry prescribed an IV push meaning the drugs are administered in one dose intravenously instead of over a period of time despite warnings that it could be lethal. A criminal complaint filed yesterday notes that Dr. Mary M. Carrasco concluded, following a review of more than 600 pages of medical documents, that Dr. Kerry was "grossly negligent" in that he was to have used "calcium EDTA" on Tariq, as had been prescribed by another doctor in Chicago. Abubaker Tariq Nadama went into cardiac arrest in 2005 soon after receiving a dose of liquid disodium EDTA in a Pennsylvania clinic. An autopsy found the cause of death was a shortage of calcium in the blood due to the treatment, called "chelation". (Daily Mail)
