    On Shikoku island, Taiyo Oil Co., an unlisted Japanese petroleum refiner, may suspend delivery of gasoline and other refined products by sea and truck tomorrow from its 120,000 barrel-a-day refinery, Yoshiki Hayashi, a manager for corporate social responsibility, said today by telephone in Tokyo. Taiyo Oil's operation at the refinery in Imabari City of Ehime prefecture on the island hasn't been affected by the storm, Hayashi said. (Bloomberg -- Japan)

    Typhoon Weakens Over Okinawa, Heads for Japan's Kyushu Island  Jul 14, 2007
    The storm is forecast to reach Kyushu by 6 p.m. tomorrow, crossing over Shikoku island and weakening further before approaching Tokyo, on the island of Honshu, the next day. Kyushu may receive 500 millimeters (20 inches) of rain, the agency said. (Bloomberg)

    Fears of water shortage spreading across Japan  Jun 20, 2007
    Restrictions have been placed on using water on Shikoku Island, where water shortages are particularly serious, while some schools in Kagawa Prefecture on the island have switched from rice to bread in school lunches to save water.     Japan, U.S. F-15 jets begin drill in southern Japan  Mar 6, 2007
    The drills are to continue until Thursday, in the air around the Goto Islands in Nagasaki prefecture and south of Shikoku Island, the report said.
