Northwest of town on RM 2323 between Cherry Spring and Prairie Mountain, high winds picked up a tree with a three-foot diameter trunk and tossed it atop a trailer at the Bruce Rode place. Near Stonewall, high winds tore the roof off a hay barn at the Roy Weinheimer place while also damaging a barn door and gates at the Stonewall Valley Ranch on RM 2721. Curry County Sheriff's deputies said the body of William G. Boyer was found Wednesday with his vehicle on a spur road near the Quail Prairie Mountain Lookout about 25 miles outside of Brookings near the Kalmiopsis Wilderness.
